Service Agreements PDF Print

Why consider a Service Agreement?

Information Technology is now a critical component in doing business – small or large. Despite this, regular system maintenance is one of the most overlooked aspects of computer ownership.

A common attitude is that a computer is expected to work “out of the box” and perform at its best without any requirement for servicing or maintenance until you replace it with a faster and more powerful model.

Unfortunately the decision to replace your equipment is usually forced on you by it breaking – usually at the most inconvenient time and/or place possible. A regular scheduled maintenance regime will assist in providing a stable technology environment, minimising the risk of business disruption and allow replacement/upgrade decisions to be made in a planned and orderly way.

MAINTENANCE SAVES MONEY: Avoiding problems with your IT will save you money over the planned life of your equipment and mitigates unplanned and often costly outages.

MAINTENANCE SAVES TIME: Regular servicing and updates go a long way to avoiding the bigger issues of dealing with system failures and data loss. Most preventive maintenance procedures are quite simple in comparison with ‘troubleshoot & repair’ procedures which can be time consuming and costly.

MAINTENANCE HELPS SAFEGUARD YOUR DATA: For most people, the data on the hard disk is more important than the hardware that houses it. Taking steps to protect this data therefore makes sense and that is what a scheduled maintenance environment is all about.

MAINTENANCE IMPROVES PERFORMANCE: Some parts of your system will actually degrade in performance over time - preventive maintenance will help to retain your system’s original performance.
